In an Island paradise during the second world war, two Americans -- a wide eyed nurse and a promising young Lieutenant discover love and confront their own prejudices.  With a beautiful story by Richard Rodgers and a soaring score by Oscar Hammerstein II includes such songs as Some Enchanted Evening, Younger than Springtime, Bali Ha'i, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair, A Wonderful Guy, There is Nothing Like a Dame and You Have to Be Carefully Taught.

Shuga Henry, as Bloody Mary, is a native of Jamaica, West Indies and a singer, actress, writer, director and teaching artist.Some of her past credits include The Wiz (Evilene, Glinda and Aunt Em) at FiddleHead Theatre, DreamGirls Revue (Effie White) for Jamibeth Productions and Showboat (Queen) for Prather Entertainment.

Jacob Greening as Lt. Joseph Cable is a rising sophomore pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre at Pace University. He made his NCC Summer Theatre debut as Kevin in The Prom. He also performed in Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom’s Grand Carnivale last summer.

*Max Wetherhold [Stewpot]  is very excited to be returning to the NCC stage. He was last seen as Nick in The Prom. He has been seen in numerous shows at NCC since 2019, where he was in the ensemble of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story. In the past year, he has been played a part in multiple NCC and Summer Theatre productions, including Spring Awakening (Hanschen), Xanadu (Terpsichore/Hermes), Footloose (Jeter), Something Rotten! (William Shakespeare), Assassins (John Wilkes Booth), American Buffalo (Walter “Teach” Cole), and Much Ado About Nothing (Balthasar).

Jen Brady, as Nellie Forbush, is a recent graduate from Montclair State University, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre. Some of her favorite credits at MSU include Into the Woods (Baker's Wife), Bright Star (Alice), and Titanic (Kate Mullins).

*Michael Joseph Sheridan as Lt. Buzz Adams was a Theater major at NCC. Here he performed in the productions of The Burn (Eric) Cloud 9 (Betty and Gerry), Assassin's (Leon Czolgosz), and Much Ado About Nothing (Claudio). You probably saw him recently in The Prom at NCC Summer Theatre.

*Daniel L. Melo [Luther Billis] is a local bilingual artist and alumni of The University of the Arts '17 and Northampton Community College '15. Daniel has collaborated with many artists creating new and exciting plays that promote Latino culture and traditions throughout the Philadelphia area. Some of his most recent credits include: Sid in (Waiting For Lefty) at Quintessence Theatre Group.

**Ken McMullin, as Emile de Becque, has acted in many different venues. He has performed on Broadway in Beauty and The Beast at The Palace Theatre. He has been in several National Tours including Beauty and The Beast (LA), Guys and Dolls (Lt Brannigan and Big Julie u/s) and Evita (Magaldi and Peron u/s). Ken has performed in International Tours and in several productions in the Poconos.

Jane Lui as  Liat will be entering her junior year as a BFA musical theatre major at Montclair State University in the fall. There, she has been in Into the Woods (Florinda), On the Town (Ensemble) and upcoming in the fall, Spring Awakening (Thea). More recently, she was seen in The Prom at NCC Summer Theatre.

Michael Sheridan [Captain Brackett] this is his first time appearing on stage in an official production at NCC. He returned to acting two years ago after a 30-year hiatus, having not done a play since high school in 1993. In the summer of 2021, he played the Bailiff in “12 Angry Jurors” at the Pennsylvania Playhouse. Since then, he’s appeared in four original plays with the Crowded Kitchen Players, including several roles in “The Rising” about the 1916 Easter Rebellion in Ireland

Ilan Annum [Jazmine] is extremely excited to be joining the Northampton Community College Summer Theatre. Ilan resides in Allentown with her family while attending middle school in the Parkland School District. Ilan’s most recent roles were as “Brooklyn Newsie” in The Civic Theatre’s, Newsies Jr., Raynell, in  August Wilson’s, Fences with the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and a Caroling Urchin/ Street Urchin in The Civic Theatres’, A Christmas Carol. 

Amaya Annum [Ngana] is elated to join Northampton Community College Summer Theatre for her debut principal performance. She’s a student at The Civic Theatre of Allentown. Her most recent roles were as a “Brooklyn Newsie” in Disney’s Newsies Jr. She resides in Allentown with her family while attending elementary school in the Parkland School District.

Jim Long [Commander Harbison] has been involved in Lehigh Valley theatres for over 30 years, and is pleased to be back again on the NCC stage. He was most recently seen here in The Prom and last summer as Coach Dunbar in Footloose. 

Mason Wold [Professor] is incredibly excited to be performing at NCC this summer! He is a recent graduate of Viterbo University with a BFA in Musical Theatre and is originally from Minneapolis, MN. Select credits include: The SpongeBob Musical, All Shook Up, Footloose, and Grand Carnivale at Valleyfair!

*Cade Kocher [Radio Operator Bob McCaffrey] Cade is absolutely thrilled to be back for his second summer season at NCC. You may have seen him in other shows such as Assassins, Spring Awakening, Rent, and the Lehigh Valley Premiere of Something Rotten where he played Tom Snout. He was in the Glass Menagerie the spring where he played Tom. 

*Connor Sternberg [Sailor] you might have seen him over the past two summers here at NCC in The Prom, Rent, Something Rotten, Alexander, and Footloose or during the school year in Much Ado About Nothing, Assassins, Xanadu and Spring Awakening. He also got the opportunity to be in the cast of Company at Cedar Crest College.

Janae Gray [Ensign Janet MacGregor] has a film degree from Georgia Gwinnett College, where she specialized in theatre. Some favorite acting credits are: Claire in Ordinary Days, Fester in The Addams Family, Delilah Strict in Zombie Prom (GGC and Aurora Theatre). She has also worked as a choreographer and percussionist at Eclectic Music.

*Josh Crowley [Yoeman Herbert Quale] is super excited to be back for his second year at NCC Summer theatre! Josh is a NCC Theatre alumni who will be transferring to DeSale’s University’s Musical theatre program this fall. Josh has been seen in a lot of productions on the NCC stage. Some of these shows and roles are Footloose as Cowboy Bob, Assassins as Charles Guiteau, Xanadu as Sonny Malone, and Larry in Company at Cedar Crest College. 

Denise Long [Lead Nurse] is happy to be back again on the NCC stage. She was seen here last summer in Footloose as Eleanor Dunbar. Denise has been involved in Lehigh Valley theatres for over 35 years, and is particularly thrilled to be joining her

husband, Jim in this show.

*Lydia Walker [Ensign Dinah Murphy] Lydia Walker is excited to be a part of her first summer season at NCC. Lydia is theatre major at NCC, where she has been in Assassins (ensemble), Much Ado About Nothing (Hero), and most recently The Prom (Shelby). Other appearances include Company (Susan) at Cedar Crest College.

*Justin Ferguson [Henry] Justin a Northampton High School alumni and current NCC student, is from NYC with plans to direct films in the future. Film and television have always played a huge part in his life, and theatre has been a good change of pace. He has appeared in four previous shows here at NCC, including Lombardi as Dave “Robbie” Robinson, Cloud 9 as Joshua/Martin, and Assassins as The Proprietor. His most recent role was as Donny Dubrow in our January production of American Buffalo.

*Aidan King [Abner] Aidan is excited to be in his second musical after making his musical debut in The Prom.

*Isaiah Elleby [Sailor] is a NCC student going to be in his 2nd year . He’s studied dance and vocal when he was in middle school, attending arts academy charter middle school. He’s been in RDT’s the nutcracker, Louis E. Dieruff’s “scenes and revelations”, 12 angry jurors. Was also casted as Bobby from Cabaret, and has recently been in our productions of Assassins and Much Ado about Nothing

Myriam Zamy [Nurse] is very excited to be apart of this NCC Season! Her recent credits include, Sister Act (Deloris Van Cartier) at Tyler Civic Theater Center, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Rona Lisa Peretti) and The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolyn Fairfax) and most recently The Prom (Alyssa Greene). She will be studying Musical Theater at New York University this fall!

Marcell McKenzie [Sailor/Marine]  is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania where he received his bachelor’s degree in musical theatre accompanied by a minor in dance. Marcell most recently performed in the Off-Broadway production of Magic Box. Other past credits include NCC Summer Theatre’s production of The Prom (Mr. Hawkins), Dreamgirls (Curtis), A Chorus Line (Richie Walters), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon), and Grumpy Old Men (Chuck).

Faith Stack [Nurse & Dance Captain] is a BFA Musical Theatre major at Rider University. Credits include: KISS ME KATE: Lilli Vanessi (Rider University), SPRING AWAKENING: Thea/Dance Captain (Milton Theatre), and CARRIE: Female Swing (RSTC). @faithstack

*Mina/Will Price [Nurse] is a Theatre major in their first year at NCC. They are delighted to continue the summer season with South Pacific. Being back with such a wonderful and talented cast has been such a great experience for them. They were last on stage for Much Ado About Nothing in the spring and The Prom this summer at NCC.

*Andy Van Antwerp {Sailor] is a Media Production major at NCC, with plans to graduate this fall. He most recently appeared as Verges in the school's production of Much Ado About Nothing, and acted in American Buffalo (Bobby) and Assassins (James Blaine) earlier in the year.

Sieanna Rahatt [Nurse] is a Cedar Crest College ‘21 graduate with a major in Theatre and Psychology. She has also been in previous productions at NCC of Something Rotten, Footloose, Jesus Christ Superstar, Buddy Holly,  In The Heights, and, most recently The Prom. She is so excited to be back in her third season here at NCC. 

Tessa DeJesus [Nurse] is a rising Senior at Northwestern Lehigh High School, and this is her first NCC summer season, but she has been a part of her school’s Theatre Productions since 6th grade. Alongside the drama club, she is a big part of her school’s marching, concert, and jazz bands, as well as chorus and the debate team.

Nikki Cohen [Nurse] is thrilled to be returning to the NCC Theatre stage for their 2023 summer stock season as Mrs. Green (The Prom), ensemble/Bloody Mary US (South Pacific) and reprising her role as Sylvia (All Shook Up). Her performance credits include The Ritz Theatre’s Once on this Island (Mama Euralie), Rebel Stages productions of Godspell (Telly) and Aint Misbehavin (Nell), and the Shawnee Playhouse’s production of Mamma Mia (Tanya), the winner of 2019 Broadway World’s Regional Award for Best Production by a Local Theater (Non-Equity). Nikki is a graduate of Kutztown University with a M.Ed. in School Counseling and has been dedicated to working in education for 8 years. Find her on IG: @anointedbeauty and @nikkithealtosings.
